Flooring — Carpet

Carpet

The softest, quietest, warmest floor there is — and in Minnesota winters, that counts for a lot.

Comfort, done properly.

Carpet is the floor you feel more than see: soft on bare feet, quiet under a full house, and noticeably warmer over a cold lower level. The difference between carpet that stays beautiful and carpet that wears out early usually comes down to two things most people never see — the fiber and the pad.

We'll walk you through fibers in plain English: nylon for durability in busy rooms, polyester for value and stain resistance, triexta when kids and pets rule the house. And we never skimp on pad, because the pad is half of what your feet feel and most of what protects the carpet itself.

How we install it

Every carpet job gets power-stretched — not just knee-kicked — over fresh tack strip and the right pad, with seams placed where they'll disappear and doorways finished clean. Stretched right, carpet stays flat and wrinkle-free for its whole life.

Stairs, done properly.

Runners, wraps, and full-carpet staircases are the most demanding carpet work in a house — and the work we're known for. Every tread hand-fit, every pattern matched on the turn.

Where carpet shines

  • Softest and warmest floor underfoot
  • Quiets footsteps, echoes, and busy households
  • Cozy over cold basements and upper bedrooms
  • Wide range of price points and styles

Honest considerations

  • Not the pick for wet or spill-prone rooms
  • Needs regular vacuuming — especially with allergies
  • Shows traffic patterns sooner in cheap fibers
  • Pad quality matters more than the sales tag admits
Carpet questions

Which fiber should I choose?

Busy hallways and stairs favor nylon's resilience; bedrooms can save with polyester; homes with kids and pets often land on triexta for its built-in stain resistance. We'll match fiber to the actual room, not the sales floor.

Does the pad really matter?

More than the carpet, in some ways. The pad determines comfort, insulation, and how long the carpet keeps its shape. We'll spec the right density and thickness for the traffic and warranty.
