About QFI

Care you can feel underfoot.

We're a Twin Cities flooring crew with one simple belief: how a floor is installed matters just as much as what it's made of.

A note from the crew

Most flooring problems aren't flooring problems. They're preparation problems — moisture nobody measured, subfloors nobody flattened, boards nobody let acclimate. So that's where our work starts: under the surface, where corners are easiest to cut and where we refuse to cut them.

The rest is simple to say and hard to do every single day. We show up when we say we will. We keep your home clean while we work and cleaner when we leave. And we tell you the truth about what your floor needs — including when the cheaper option is the right one.

Your floor is the one surface you touch every day. We treat it that way.

What we believe

Three habits we never skip.

Carpet stretching tool at a freshly finished edge

Prep first

Moisture readings, flat subfloors, acclimated material. The invisible work is the work — it's why our floors stay quiet and flat.

Immaculate finished stairs and landing — a QFI install

Clean sites

Dust contained, tools packed nightly, rooms walkable at the end of each day. You're living here; we work like we remember that.

Straight answers

Real numbers that hold, honest talk about materials, and a clear "that floor doesn't belong in that room" when you need to hear it.

A typical install day

Hour by hour, no surprises.

8:00 am

We arrive on time. Furniture, walkways, and finished surfaces get protected; materials get staged.

9:00 am

Subfloor hour: moisture readings, flattening and patching, squeaks fixed while they're easy to reach.

11:30 am

Installation begins — layout lines snapped first so the whole floor runs straight and true.

4:00 pm

Daily reset: tools packed, dust contained, the room left safe and walkable for your evening.

Final day

The walkthrough. We inspect every inch together, answer every question, and leave you with simple care guidance.
